2)Why they were working weekends (actually heard that govt employees working during weekends is illegal) to clear 60,000 visa numbers?
3) Why did they pick july 2nd to revise the bulletin and did not pre-warn potential applicants?
4)Why no one from DOS or USCIS is talking about exceptions and or remedies for those july applicants who wasted thousands in 2 weeks?
5) What was that urge, which compelled DOS to make everybody current?
6) What will happen to those applicantions reached early morning on july 2nd before revised bulletin became public or those who mailed on june 29/30 for July 2nd delivery?
7) Why did USCIS clear so many applicants by-passing security checks and clearances?
8) Why was there a mad rush in the last 2 weeks of june when in reality visa numbers would go waste on sept end?
9) Why USCIS always talks about under staffed when they are in a possition to clear 60,000 applicantions in a matter of days?

H1bmajdoor -- the blunder I am talking about here is making the dates all current (the original July bulletin) -- who the hell asked them to do that?? Why not move them another year forward? Had they done that I doubt USCIS would have panicked and gone crazy approving people without security checks, approving people whose dates were not current in June or even on July 2.

From this, if we assume ~4000/day, it ll take 20 working days to clear july 2nd filers (~80,000). My guess is by 31st Aug.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your situation. I guess you shd directly contact USCIS authority who can guide
you properly instead of going thru' multiple lawyers . Write a letter to the state senator an explain your situation.Last but not least remain positive. God is there with you and your family.

All 140K GCs are available on Oct 1. However, dates were not current in 2005 and 2006. I think that current dates do not depend on available GCs.
Looks like current dates depend on # submitted AOS's. USCIS is saying that on Jul 2 it has submitted AOS's that exhaust submitted AOS quota.

I think we should go to USCIS/DOS office. But problem is we have to do this on weekdays and most of member won't be join on weekdays because of work.
If we do on weekend then we will get more response but then offices will be closed unless they working on weekend as they did last weekend.
Are you serious? If people are so much interested in getting a GC and would like to make an impact, a day's work should not be a big deal. Forget the weekend stuff as DC streets have no federal government business on weekends. There are some guys who are willing to drive from NY/NJ/NC.
Even if we take the poll and lets say 500 people would like to come, that number will become 250 or less as most of us will have last minute issues as usual :p

I am in the same situation in that I too have not received my FP notice as yet. Filed July 23rd at TSC. The application was transferred to CSC and then back to TSC. I opened a SR on October 5th and still have not received a FP notice. When I called to follow up, I've was told that the TSC is significantly delayed because of the volume of applications they received and to wait 90 days!
For those of you who have used infopass, was it helpful in getting your FP scheduled?
Also, can the person who wrote to the obudsman post the e-mail address and format of what he/she wrote? This would make it easier for those of us who would also like to send an e-mail.

I filed concurrently for I140 and AOS by sending in the application packet today. My lawyer suggested that even though the USCIS receives the packet tomorrow but are not able to receipt it before the 17th they can reject the it. I am a little confused about his advice, can anyone please provide a clue and sooth my nerves? It would be a tremendous obligation.

If you move before you get your new card call customer service.
Only catch for us is that we are moving next weekend!! I am going to do change of address with USCIS immediately, but in the meanwhile what if they mail documents to my old address? Any suggestions?
Also whats ADIT.
BTW our case was at NSC and priority date is May 2004. Application mailed Aug7th 2007.

It has already been 45 days since the letter was dated. NO FP nothing.
Has going to IO helped anybody is getting a FP notice? That seems my last resort.
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. just sent e-mail to ombudsman. I would encourage all of you to send e-mail regarding FP delay. it did help in getting receipt notices. Please do it for FP also.

Sanjeev: How do you know it was received by NSC on June 4th,is there on line reference? did you get a letter of recepit? DId your lawyer call them or you just checked the courier company on line receipt?
